Luxury and performance, coupled with masterful attention to detail? It must be a BMW. Well-known by its motto “The Ultimate Driving Machine”, it’s no surprise that premium car buyers choose BMW in Ontario, Canada.

Even the most basic BMW 2 Series starts at well over $42,000 brand new, putting it out of reach for many car shoppers. There is a way, however, that this car can in fact be affordable – don’t disregard a used model. You can buy a used BMW along with attractive BMW finance options from Carnance.com.
Want to see some great buys on luxury cars? Here are six used BMW models to consider, all under $30,000.

2017-2018 BMW 330i X-Drive

One of the most common BMW models sold in Canada is the 3 Series. Available in your choice of coupe, sedan, or convertible, it’s a desirable model for anyone from commuters to family car owners. The BMW 330i X-Drive sedan is an all-wheel-drive powerhouse that combines the twin-turbo, 248-hp 2.0-liter engine with the German automaker’s rock-steady X-Drive AWD system. Inside, enjoy the gorgeous leather upholstery, top-mounted navigation screen, and ridiculously crystal-clear audio.
You’ll find the awesome mid-trim level 330i sedan with X-Drive for around $25,000-$30,000 in 2017 or 2018 model years. Not only will you get awesome BMW finance options for a three-year-old car, but there is likely a balance of factory warranty remaining.

2016-2017 BMW 428i X-Drive

Slightly larger than the 3 Series, the 4 Series coupe is a statement in style and status. Not only is it luxurious, it’s sporty. The 428i X-Drive is at the entry-level of the 4 Series range and has phenomenal value. A 240-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter paired with either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and, of course, the road-gripping X-Drive AWD system. With a cavernous trunk, it’s the perfect car for road trips.
Heated front seats, navigation, Harman Kardon sound, and high-grade leatherette upholstery are standard, but there’s plenty of available options from there. To buy a used BMW 4 Series, around four years old, you would be looking at the low $20’s for pricing and still have fabulous BMW finance options.

2015-16 BMW 428i X-Drive Convertible

If you’re looking to buy a used BMW that has a drop-top, your options are a little more limited. The 4 Series offers the convertible in both rear-wheel-drive and X-Drive, and you have a choice between the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 240 hp and the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 300 hp. Standard features are much like the 428i coupe with a few exceptions. Its well-insulated hardtop convertible roof lets you experience open-air driving while keeping it quiet and warm in the cabin when it’s closed. Keep in mind that trunk space is limited due to roof storage.
Because it’s a hard-top convertible and it has X-Drive AWD, the 428i is an ideal used BMW to finance in Ontario. Expect the price to come in around the mid to high-twenties for this luxury coupe. Since a 2015-16 model is still only five years old, BMW finance services will still be available.

2016-17 BMW 320i X-Drive

Perhaps your car search has brought you to search for a used BMW that’s well below $30,000. There are great options available for under $20,000. For example, a used BMW 3 Series with entry-level features like the 320i X-Drive is an excellent option. With this package, you receive all the important features while paying less than you would for a comparable entry-level non-luxury brand.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder has plenty of power with 180 hp and X-Drive AWD that ensures you have year-round traction – a must for Ontario’s harsh winter driving conditions. Gorgeous leatherette seats with available memory power-adjustable and heated bases, push-button start, and parking sensors are popular options in this sedan.
If you are looking for low-cost payments to finance a used BMW, the 320i X-Drive is it. It’s possible to get a three or four-year-old model that still has some remaining factory warranty for well under $200 bi-weekly.

2015-16 BMW X5 X-Drive35i

Will only a BMW SUV fit your needs? Although it’s tickling the top end of the $30,000 budget, you could buy a used BMW X5 that is four to five years old. Spectacularly suited for adverse road conditions and able to comfortably carry five adults, the BMW X5 comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, a massive panoramic sunroof, a power liftgate, push-button start, and heated seats. Navigation is also included on all trims, even the X-Drive35i.
The 300-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder is paired with BMW’s tested and true 8-speed automatic transmission, and it has plenty of performance to make every trip exciting. It’s available with solely rear-wheel drive, but with Ontario’s winter weather, nothing short of X-Drive should be on the table.

2016-17 BMW 535d X-Drive

If you have a penchant for a longer, more elegant sedan, look to buy a used 5 Series. Compared to the Audi A6, Lexus GS, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the 5 Series is a more stylish car, with far better value. For example, the BMW 535d X-Drive is a fantastic BMW under $30,000 at just three or four years old. The longer wheelbase makes it extremely comfortable to sit either in the front or rear seat, and the front comes standard with heated and cooled seats. Also standard are one-touch front and rear windows, navigation, leather upholstery, and stunning Harman Kardon sound.
Options to look for in a 535d include advanced driver assist systems like Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and blind spot monitoring sensors, not to mention a full-colour head-up display.
The BMW 535d has excellent fuel economy too, due to its 3.0-liter diesel engine with 255 hp and 413 lb.-ft. of torque. And as always, choose an X-Drive AWD model if possible to handle the slippery streets Ontario experiences for six months of every year.
